Julia Karolina

Julia Karolina is an American actress, model, singer and dancer. Born in North Carolina, she grew up between the United States and Nicaragua, until she moved to New York City whilst still a teenager which began her interest in an acting career. Originally studying Shakespearean theatre throughout her teenage years, as well as performing in Shakespearean productions, she began to study film history and directing whilst in New York City. This led her Los Angeles, where she completed the advanced Meisner training program at Playhouse West under Robert Carnegie. Shortly thereafter, Karolina left the acting industry, finding success as a recording artist under the name "Ruelia", being featured in Galore Magazine, Lady Gunn, No Jumper etc., and later moving to Medellin, Colombia, where she was mentored by Alvaro Osorio Balvin, father of Reggaeton superstar J. Balvin. During this time, she signed to First Access Entertainment under Sarah Stennet and Travis Mills. After performing across London and growing her reputation as a singer and dancer, Karolina decided to leave the music industry and return to the acting industry, enrolling in Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Karolina has since left London and as of May 2023 returned to Los Angeles to continue her career as an actress. Trivia: Julia Karolina is bilingual in Spanish and in English- partially raised living in Nicaragua and with Nicaraguan family, though her heritage is Italian, Albanian, Irish, Czech and Egyptian. She has said that she feels the most connected to Nicaraguan culture, and secondly Italian culture.
