Stéfanie Tougas

-Stéfanie Tougas studied Communications and Politics at Université de Montréal before completing a Bachelor of Law at Université Laval. She is currently completing her dissertation in International Law, as well as working as a research assistant in the Faculty of Law at Université de Montréal. She is particularly interested in international economic and trade relations, public and European international law, and the legal aspects of Canadian commercial bilateralism. Her academic career has also taken her to the prestigious École de Droit de Sciences Po Paris, where she completed a Master 2 in International Economic Law and worked as a research assistant in international commercial and investment arbitration. She was employed by the European Parliament in Brussels as a young professional in the Transatlantic Relations Unit. Passionate about public affairs and international relations, she has worked as an advisor to various levels of government and ministers in France and Quebec. She is also a committed citizen who speaks out in the public arena, notably as a specialist in various media. Outside the University, Stéfanie also devotes her time and energy to organizations close to her heart, notably as a director and Vice-President of the Comité d'action politique France-Québec. She has also been a director of the Fondation LOJIQ, the JURIPOP legal clinic, and Secretary General of the FAÉCUM.
