Mittens Young

Mittens was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most gentle dogs that the world has ever known. She was originally a neglected stray with a suspected history of abuse who was abandoned after being overbred. Mittens was adopted from a shelter after she was found starving and still producing milk from her last litter, which was nowhere to be seen when she was found. This left an impact on Mittens; when puppies would cry on TV shows and movies, she would get up and search for them before returning to the couch, noticeably sad. Despite the heartbreak that humans put her through, it never impacted Mitten's ability to love and trust, and it never stopped her from getting up to comfort sad humans around her and cuddle with them. She preferred to be spooned at night; she had a favorite blanket; she preferred to listen to rap and would dance and play to the music; and her best friend was a 6 lb. cat (who is also wonderful) named Pepper. Tragically, Mittens passed away in 2022 after battling a progressive neurological illness. She is a staple in the films of her bereaved human as a way to honor her memory and allow her memory to live on. In 30 years, you probably won't be watching the movies that Mittens was in, but the people who loved her the most will be, just to see her face again.
