Maria Kalatozishvili

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Maria Kalatozishvili is a director, artist and writer working in animation since 2019. In 2016 she moved to the UK to pursue a career in arts and studied Fine Art at Oaklands College. In 2018 She went on to study Animation and Visual Media at Irish School of Animation (Ballyfermot College of Further Education). During her time there she worked on several Independent Shorts as an artist and animator, among which is Cracking the Code (director Robert Bowler) nominated for Best Short at Dingle Animation Festival; interned at Souzmultfilm studio on a children's TV series "Orange Cow"; and directed an Animated Music video "Once". Her directorial debut "One, Two,Three - Lift Off!" came out in 2022 and premiered in 2023 at Fragments Festival in London, where it was nominated for Best Short and Best Director under 25. As of 2024 Maria resides in Barcelona, Spain and is working on her next animated short film "Legend of Sarma".
