September 27, 2000, he miraculously survived an almost fatal mishap during his Mediterranean Sea tour, he fell overboard off the aircraft carriers starboard side refueling station an entire 53 feet backwards at night about 290 miles away from land while the ship was in the middle of adjusting speed from 17 to 12 knots. After ending his Navy service in 2001 he returned to raising his children while his spouse finished serving her enlistment contract whom he had married at the age of just 18 years old. However, such as in life, disaster struck and not only did his adoptive mother die in June of 2005, but his unbeknownst to him at the same time his marriage would also end. Devastated but determined to never give up he returned to the service that he'd grown up to love, the United States Army, and enlisted at first in the Army National Guard as a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear High Yield Explosives specialist (CBRNE). He then volunteered to serve in two Iraqi Combat tours and one Afghanistan for Active duty from 2007 to 2014. Upon his successful return from his first Combat tour, Matthew was injured and received surgeries to repair his injuries. During this time, he successfully found his biological mother Alexandra Victoria Webster and also in September of 2009 he gained custody of his first marriages three children through the court in Norfolk Virginia where his wife had filed for custody and divorce proceedings. Later in June 2013 Matthew married his second wife Nageyah "Nya" Aisha Griffin (Vinson). The couple separated after the first two years and never reconciled, nor did they divorce. In August of 2023 Nya died from a seizure of Lupis related illnesses unbeknownst to Matthew. From his childhood all the way up to middle and high school drama club, and even down the runway at teenage 1990s fashion shows Matthew has loved the art of acting and movie creation and storytelling. During his life Matthew has fathered eight children. He has seven daughters and one son. His son serves as a Marine. He also has two granddaughters. Matthew Griffin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and is a sole custody single father to his eighth child, his five-year-old daughter Aurorastorm Griffin. He lives in Georgia and still seeks out acting roles and voice narration roles for his Barry White toned, "All State Guy" sounding voice.
