Siddhartha Sankar Chakraborti

Siddhartha is an Indian television and film actor. He made his debut in the Bengali television series, Ishti Kutum in 2014 on Star Jalsha with a cameo role. He had his major break in the Bengali serial, Aponjon, aired on Colors Bangla, where he played the role of Rudra in 2015. In 2017, he played one of the leading characters, Indra in Premer Kahini in 2017 on Star Jalsha. After that he performed many primary and cameo roles in Bengali serials like Agnijol (2017, on Star Jalsha), Jai Kali Kolkattawali (2017, on Star Jalsha), Manasa (2018 on Colors Bangla), Nishir Daak (2018, on Colors Bangla), Mahaprabhu Sree Chaitanya (2018, on Colors Bangla), Simana Periye (2019, on Sun Bangla), Jai Baba Lokenath (2019, on Zee Bangla), Netaji (2020, on Zee Bangla). In 2020, he appeared in a cameo role in the film, Sudakshinar Shari, directed by Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy. In the same year, he played a significant role in one of the episodic stories, Praay Kafka, directed by Chandril Bhattacharya in the web series Paanch Phoron on Hoichoi, a Bengali video streaming platform, SVF Entertainment Pvt. Lt. In 2021, he played one of the leading characters, Gopal in the television series, Adorer Bon on Sun Bangla. He was much appreciated in this serial for his portrayal of an obsessive lover. In 2022, he performed successfully the role of a devotee, Raja Indradyumna in Jai Jagannath on Colors Bangla. In between he appeared in some short films as well like Aatpoure (2024), directed by Chandril Bhattacharya. In the meantime he completed his graduation with English Honors from the University of Calcutta. Then he went on to complete his M.A., B.ED., M.Phil., and PhD from the University of Calcutta. His PhD thesis is on Popular Culture and Film Stardom. Apart from his acting and academic achievements, he participated in the Celebrity Cricket League in 2017. He played for the Bengal Tigers as a batting all-rounder. He is a self-proclaimed cricket historian and an active follower of Indian Cricket, and world cricket in general.
