Stunning Director, Producer and Writer Nina Brooks debuts her short film, "The Passport" this summer. Early last year, Nina joined worked alongside the likes of Emmai Alaquiva Jazmine Lewis and Baron J. Littleton to grow and gain her knowledge in film and TV. Brooks made her TV debut in the poignant TV Series portraying the troubled life of an in inner-city Pittsburgh single mother, The Lovers Lyfe, and continued on to work with Lana Bettencourt in The Family Business and Emmy Award winning "Unspeakable", Created by Emmy Award-winning Film Director Emmai Alaquiva, this outstanding :60 second PSA features the voices of the Deaf community and their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Unspeakable was entirely filmed in and around the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Making her directorial debut on The Passport Nina continues her work as both a writer and behind the camera and is developing a documentary film that centers on strong and inspirational women from all backgrounds. In addition to her film and TV work, Nina's passion lies in serving her community. With her family roots planted in Pittsburgh, PA Nina's long term goals are to mentor young girls in film and empower them to regain their self-esteem and teach them life skills. Nina was born in York, PA to Evelyn Brooks, a seamstress. She now calls Los Angeles home where she lives with her fiance, Chris, co-owner of their independent film production company, CEP Productions, LLC. When she's not juggling between her career and domestic life, she enjoys staying active by doing hiking, swimming, and yoga. Brooks also finds pleasure in traveling and experiencing different cultures throughout the world. One of her favorite locations to visit is Paris, where she can reflect and refuel.
