Freeda Lou began her career as a street performer in Paris at the age of 13 years old. Later on, after studying light opera, she explored African music with Congolese rumba, Afro-beat, and west & south African music, as well as Brazilian and Arabic music. She further developed her singing experience as a backup vocalist touring the world with African artists such as Sam Mangwana. Later, she was lead singer of the jazz quintet "Lindaloo" performing internationally at numerous clubs and festivals. She then moved to New York City for music and acting.
