Paul Deceglie is a fantastic example of never knowing where you are going to go in Life. He grew up in New York to a middle class family eventually wanting to be a teacher but his life took a strange turn when he received an offer to do some freelance journalism. His new job as a journalist took him many places and locations like the UN to cover the crisis in the Congo. DeCeglie ended up in California. Though his various connections, he ended up as a member of the Screen Extras Guild and he eventually became their president. DeCeglie's passion for information and his unique ability with the written word enabled him to put together a staff and to release a newspaper that helped keep extras informed with the daily news of the SEG's various branches across the United States. He constantly strived to improve working conditions for his fellow screen extras but eventually had to resign from his presidency but not without leaving behind a legacy of improvement and the satisfaction that he was one of the few who actually tried to take steps to improve the guild's position. Disenchanted with the current state of the United States, DeCeglie took a job in Thailand as a correspondent for various news outlets.
