Asligul Armagan is a writer-producer and BAFTA Newcomer. Since 2019, she has worked as an associate producer on Academy Award-winning director Bryan Fogel's documentary films, most notable of which are "Icarus: The Aftermath", which premiered at the 2022 Telluride Film Festival, and "The Dissident", which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Best Documentary BAFTA Award in 2021. Armagan has previously worked in film and television development at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Working Title Films, George Clooney and Grant Heslov's Smokehouse Pictures, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road Pictures, and Gunpowder & Sky. Born and raised in Ankara, Turkey, Armagan holds a dual master's degree in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a bachelor's degree in History from Durham University in the United Kingdom.
