Born near the banks of River Ganges, in District Unnao, Uttar Pradesh (INDIA) Pankaj Shukla got attracted towards performing arts during childhood. Pankaj Shukla started his career as journalist. As a journalist he traveled extensively and did exclusive stories like Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra's love affair and marriage prospects among many others. He was Editor of very famous film magazine Rangayan. Pankaj Shukla moved on to become special programming head of Zee News channel. He has written & directed many corporate films and few commercial ad films as well. His works like real location haunted tv series, Bhoot Bangla and a series on super natural stories, Honi Anhoni were the first for Indian Television. He became film director with a super hit Bhojpuri film Bhole Shankar, it was also for the first time that he made Mithun Chakraborty work in a Bhojpuri film. He has also directed many short films which have won laurels in international film festivals like River To River Film Festival, NRI Film Festival and Ikos International Film Festival. He has made more than 100 Documentaries including more than 50 on Indian Film Celebrities. His latest documentary Swaraj Mumkin Hai on self governance in Indian Villages has won many awards in International Film Festivals. He has been associated as Creative Consultant for film Mohalla Assi starring Sunny Deol. His music realty show Folk Stars: Maati Ke Laal is the first ever show on Indian Television to bring the folk singers of different Indian Languages with their ethnic instruments and folklores on one platform. He also made a comedy show titled Lete Hain Khabar, a spoof on news. Pankaj Shukla is a poet by heart and has written the melody song of Indian Government's Navratna company Coal India which was sung by Kailash Kher. An avid observer of human relations, Pankaj Shukla did graduation from Christ Church College, Kanpur and did post graduate diploma from the same college in Journalism and Mass Communication. It was during his stint as print journalist that Pankaj did Masters in English Literature and also did B.Ed.
