Lee Melamed was born in New York City, on November 7th, 2002. He is one of twin sons of noted actor Fred Melamed and artist Leslee Melamed (nee Spieler). Lee grew up in Montauk, New York, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of ten. He was discovered by writer/director Charles Dennis, who observed Lee's uncanny mimical abilities while Lee was entertaining friends with an imitation of Marlon Brando. Lee is too young to remember the living Brando, but studied him while indulging his love of classic film. Dennis then asked him to do Alfonso Bedoya, then Laurence Olivier, all of whom Lee could imitate flawlessly.
