Amy S. Hart is an independent filmmaker and photographer focused on media that contributes to making the world a better place. She directed, produced and wrote Secret Ingredients, along with activist Jeffrey M Smith. Secret Ingredients was shown at festivals across the country and won The Illuminate Film Fest Impact Award, the RIFF Green Planet Award and an Award of Excellence from the Impact Doc Awards. The film gained numerous 5 Star ratings and rave reviews on Amazon Prime - until it was abruptly taken off for no clear reason - the only thing we can assume is that Amazon got pressure from Big Ag to take it down. Yes, it's a controversial film and well worth watching if you care about your health and what's actually in your food. Hart's documentary, Water First: Reaching the Millennium Development Goals, distributed by Bullfrog Films, premiered in 2008 at the Environmental Film Festival in our Nation's Capital, and was shown around the world at more than 100 festivals and conferences including the Amnesty International FF, the World's Fair in Spain, and the Pan African FF, and garnered a UN Environmental Programme Award, a World Water Forum International Jury Award, and a Fulbright Cultural Exchange Award. Amy Hart gained experience in the industry at Fine Line, New Line, and Miramax Films. She produced and directed over 100 hours of live educational broadcast programs at NYNetwork and has directed numerous public health campaigns for the City of New York and other NYC organizations. As a theater artist, she performed her original plays around the world at international festivals and global forums. Her parents met in the theater and her mother, Sylvia Hormann-Alper, was an acclaimed stage actress in Honolulu, Hawaii.
