Nicole Brooks is a critically acclaimed television and multiple Dora nominated theatre creator/producer whose production work began as story editor on Canada's first multicultural sitcom Lord Have Mercy (Vision TV/Leda Serene). Since then, Brooks has established a reputable 20 year career with over 100 hours of content in film & television as a producer, director, writer and story editor, having her work broadcasted on Canadian platforms such as CBC, OMNI, Bravo!Fact, VisionTV, and internationally on TVOne (USA) and Flow (Caribbean) along with screenings at several film festivals around the world. In 2012, Brooks added playwright to her list of talents. Her debut theatrical work, Obeah Opera - which she wrote, composed and performed in - has been staged in various incarnations at festivals, workshop productions and commissioned presentations in Toronto between 2009 and 2019. Simultaneously, Brooks continued her work in television, executive producing CaribbeanTales' slate of international pilots through its flagship Incubator Training Program, now known as the Creators of Colour Incubator. Brooks is currently producing her first feature film project In the Black and is in development with a varied roster of projects both in theatre and film/television productions.
