Jeremy Lu was born in Beijing. During his childhood, he spent a lot of time learning performing art. In 2009, he got into The Central Academy of Drama, one of the best art schools in China, as a performing art student. After a year of study, he found more passion in filmmaking, so he changed his major to Film & TV. After graduating, he worked in an independent film studio as a producer, director, and editor, making commercials and shorts. In 2016, he began to peruse Film & TV MFA degree in Savannah College of Art and Design, where he met his film mentor, Lubomir Kocka, who taught him a complete director theory. During 2016-2019, he has become a more mature filmmaker and made many short films, including a 16mm film, Ties, and Mike and Mark, which were shown on the school showcase and gained good reviews from the professors. A Peek of Love is his graduate thesis film. He applied what he had learned about filmmaking in the past years in this film. After graduation, he worked in a Chinese American TV station as a director, cinematographer, and editor in LA.
