Rahul hails from Durg, Chhattisgarh. He is a post graduate in Screenplay Writing from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Since childhood, Movies, TV, Cartoons, Comics, Mythological Tales and Storybooks were his life and he aspired to be a part of that world. Even during his engineering days, he never left the sight of his dreams and religiously participated in cultural events, tech fests, skits and drama competitions and won many awards. He was selected in two prominent IT companies but didn't join them and instead joined a theater group. There he adapted short stories from myths and lore as well as plays of English and other languages in Hindi. It was during this time that he realized he had a flare for writing. He spent some time doing small theater and writing work. During this time, Rahul won a National level drama competition organized by prestigious media group. In Dec 2014, he got an opportunity to write for animated shows and since then he never looked back. By the time this bio was written, he has more than 100 episodes and 2 Tele-movies for animated shows like "Chhota Bheem", "Mighty Raju", "Kalari Kids" and "Arjun - The Prince of Bali" to his credit which has aired on channels like POGO and Disney as well as various OTT Platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. In April of 2018, an episode titled "Every Father's Vision" written by Rahul for the show "Kalari Kids" won the award of Best Animated Episode at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, New Delhi. Apart from animated shows, Rahul has written scripts for tell-tale mobile games and some other projects like 7-D shows for multiplexes. In 2018, Rahul joined Film and Television Institute of India, Pune to learn more about the craft of screenwriting under renowned screenwriters and mentors of the industry.
