Ella Greenwood is a British filmmaker born and raised in London, England. She is the CEO of Broken Flames Productions, which is focusing on a slate of mental health-based projects and is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree. Aged 18, she wrote, directed & produced her first film 'Faulty Roots' which was called 'A rather powerful little story' by UK Film Review. Faulty Roots was nominated for an Award by Film The House which is run by Parliament and sponsored by Disney, Lionsgate, Warner Bros and more. Faulty Roots premiered at the Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival and was selected for many other festivals including BAFTA Qualifying Bolton International Film Festival and Tallgrass Film Festival in the US. Ella created her first animation 'Dreary Days' also aged 18. She is now in development of her first feature film, which is an adaptation of Faulty Roots, as announced by Film Stories Magazine and featured by Deadline, Yahoo, BBC, Heyuguys, BroadwayWorld and more. Faulty Roots will be made in partnership with Social Impact Agency TerraMedia. She is also working on her next film 'Self-Charm' which was recently featured by Variety after announcing that BAFTA Winner Bukky Bakray would be taking on the lead role. Other upcoming projects include 'Smudged Smile' with Mia Mckenna-Bruce, 'Why Wouldn't I Be?' with Harry Collett, 'Better Get Better' with Elisha Applebaum and 'Fifty-four Days' with Celia Imrie. Ella is a member of the National Youth Theatre and is an ambassador for leading teen mental health charity stem4. She was awarded Positive Female Role Model Of The Year at the Darkus Magazine 2020 Awards and was featured as one of Woman Entrepreneur Magazine as one of 2021's Most Influential Female Entrepreneurs.
