Known as 'McDayveed' on social media, he was born on the 11th of August 1999 as Ocansey Godswill but adopted the name David at the early age of 3 after reading the bible story of David and falling in love with the character, he became Ocansey David Godswill and it stuck ever since. McDayveed is of full West-African descent. Born in Lagos, Nigeria to Eucharia Williams (a businesswoman and a profound Humanitarian) who hails from the South-Eastern part of Nigeria and to Alex Djabaku Ocansey (a professional Architect and Construction Engineer) who hails from the capital city of Ghana-Accra. In his last year of Elementary school he was involved in a Christmas play where he played Joseph the father of baby Jesus. The play was a successful one and after the play he went on to bag his first ever meager school award for 'Best Performance' and that was practically the moment that kick started the zeal to want to be an actor. He joined the schools drama club in High School and was involved in some inter-school competitions up until he's parents moved to Ghana where he continued to finish off his High School education. In a new environment and around a different culture and flock of students, he decided to pick up from where he left off by joining the school's drama club once again and it was tough because he was a newbie, but his then acting teacher Mr. Lawrence Quashigah took keen interest in him and decided to try him out with something different and he aced the role. That was it! A couple of successful stage plays including The Barbers Shop (2013) went by and he was appointed the Drama Club Organizer for being such a good team player and under his tenure as Organizer, his school won some awards including Best Story for the satirical comedy play titled Diary of the Black Gorillas (2014) which led him to be named the Most Promising Actor in the High School Broadway Drama Festival in 2014. In addition to dancing, he added singing as one of his hobbies and began posting short covers of him singing on YouTube and on the musical app 'musical.ly' and eventually he performed in school for a seniors sendoff party and everyone loved his performance. He ran for the Entertainment Prefect position as at the time and he won! He was considered one of the best Entertainment Prefects of all time up until he graduated in 2015 at the age of 15. In the last quarter of 2015, Dayveed went for an audition organized by Green Lemon Film Productions who were at the time coming out with a high school TV Series titled Game Over (2015) that was to commence airing late 2015. Turns out, the director of the series had watched one of his stage plays when he was still in school and knew what he was capable of, not too long he got his first debut series where he played the character 'Simon'. In 2016 he taught himself to play the guitar and months after he released a few songs up until early 2017. Still eager to build on his acting, he went on to Film School to study Acting and Screenwriting and by the end of the course, the school's production house decided to work on a Drama-Romance & Crime based movie titled Jilted to introduce its students to the market (this movie is yet to be released). On the side, Godswill books some gigs as a commercial and photo model and he does this voice switch thing where he acts like he's voicing a cartoon character or the one where he tries talking in so many different accents just to perfect his impressions or he's writing something new or he's on the court making 3-pointers and blocking everyone, or he's focused on one of his gadgets due to his infamous love for IT, either that or he's making noise on social media or posting memes and funny tweets on Twitter.
