Vanesha Chanta is an American actress known for her striking smile and athletic physique. Birth name Vanesha Harris, she was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She is the youngest of her mother two children. Her mother, Linda Harris, is a kindergarten teacher. Raised in a rural, country town, her hobbies included playing soccer, softball, cheerleading and riding horses. She began training for barrel horse racing in the ninth grade. After a bad fall that resulted in a fractured back, her barrel racing career ended before it ever began. She went on to play soccer in college and joined the collegiate cheerleading team. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2017 at Alcorn State University. After graduating college, she decided to focus more on her acting and music career. She released her first single in 2017, titled "Get Gone". She is said to release her first EP summer of 2019. Her first theatre roles were in 2017 and 2018 where she booked two supporting roles in the stage plays, "Church Hurts" by DV Productions and "Well Worth the Wait", by BBM Productions. Her on -screen debut was a campaign commercial Merck for Mothers - Reverse (2018), produced by Whitelist.tv. She starred in her first independent film Confessions of an R&B Diva (2019), produced by Sky is Life Productions. She trains weekly with Cotton Yancey at the Mis'sippi Film Actor's Network Repertory Workshop.
