Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Daughter of Nettie Ann Houssin (Brown) & Ron Houssin. Karen has divorced parents but looked to her mom Ann (Nettie) for everything. Her mother showed her how determination and a go-get attitude can get what you want in life. This was a very shy girl/lady who could not speak in public for many years. Karen had grown in many different directions until she got involved and nominated for the President of the Grahamdale Chamber of Commerce. In 1996 Karen married Raymond Bittner and had 2 children Katlyn & Marshall. Involved with the Chamber Karen started been noticed in the public eye. She excelled in public relations/speaking and was noticed more in the inter-lake/Manitoba. Karen won the most outstanding Chamber member award a few years later. Equine activities and excelling with her Horses in showing and breeding champion horses is what she enjoyed. In 2013 she went back to college for graphic & publication Design and graduated with Honors. A few years later Karen divorced Raymond and that set her love for acting in a forward direction. To get through the pain of the divorce Karen went on a casting call and received her first BG acting role with an independent filmmaker Ryan McKenna on the project "The Cranks" Then on her next BG Fox Movie "Breakthrough" she met her mentor and friend Cindy Myskew A Manitoba Born Actor/Producer/Writer/Director. Karen had the drive and determination to continue with acting. Now Karen has been in many BG & Speaking rolls with major Film Companys, and worked with many local artists, pushing her personal growth in learning the craft. Karen now has many production qualifications in front and behind of the camera, plus voice over radio advertisements. "Internet Astronauts" an Indi production company, Mark Kiazyk producer/writer/actor from (IA) who told her that "there are very few people that radiate the passion for making movies like himself" Karen is still working with the Internet Astronauts with their growing series "Snake Pit".In 2019 Karen worked again with her friend Cindy Myskiw in her movie "A Prarie Christmas" where Karen worked as a script supervisor on Cindy's own movie she directed/produced and written. Who knows what else she's going to do next. If you ask her what makes her keep moving she will always say her mother, the one who believes in her the most.
