Kenji Lee aka. Mr. Chen is an Asian-New Zealand producer, writer-director, composer, and actor based in Australia. He is known for directing, writing, and producing former world boxing champion Jeff Horn's short film Slugger (2021), which was well received by Australian news and media outlets. Kenji is also known for playing the lead roles of unconventional school teacher Daniel Chen (Mr. Chen) in How (Not) To Teach (2019), which he directed, and Dr. John Omg in Dr. OMG! of Oolong Clinic (2017). Kenji is fluent in English, Japanese, and Mandarin. He played tennis professionally until the age of 17 and played on the same Queensland State Team with WTA singles No. 1 Australian professional tennis player Ashleigh Barty in 2006 and 2007. Kenji has a journalism and secondary teaching degree. He was a finalist for the 2019 Queensland Beginning Teacher of the Year Award and 2020 Australian Educators Award. Kenji is also an author.
