Cristina Marie Cots is a writer and filmmaker Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. She has worked in several fiction and documentary projects. Her short film "Juntos" was a finalist in the Red Film Festival" for AIDS prevention and awareness. She got a scholarship at the Alliance Française of Santiago to study French in 2015, after four years she got the professional diploma of a DELF B2. She studies Film at Intec (Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo) since 2017, with a scholarships from the university and the Dgcine (Dirección General de cine the Dominican film commission). She is a fan of black and white movies, specially Truffaut films, even though (admits) she didn't like to watch them; and feels grateful to her college professor and filmmaker J. J. Namnun for having taught her how to appreciate the beauty of black and white films. Among the non black and white films, her favorites are Prenon Carmen by Jean Luc Godard and F for fake by Orson Welles. Her favorite Latin-American films from the past 10 years are Nostalgia for the Light by Patricio Guzmán and Miriam Lies by Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada.
