Emilio Aguilar Pradal was born in 1986 in Jalacingo, Veracruz. He made his first short film in 16 mm. at the age of fourteen. He attended National University film school (CUEC - UNAM) at age of nineteen. He has worked as a screenwriter, sound mixer, editor ad director in features and documentaries since then. At the same time he has worked as a teacher of "History of Mexican cinema" in various institutions. "The red sunsets" is his first feature film as a director.
