Leonardo Martinelli is a director, screenwriter, producer and researcher. He directed the films Vidas Cinzas (2017), Lembra (2018), Copacabana Madureira (2019) and O Prazer de Matar Insetos (2020). His short-films have won more than fifty awards on several continents, having been shown at more than three hundred film festivals and museums around the world, including festivals such as Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Festival do Rio, Mostra de Cinema de Tiradentes, Ficunam, Curta Cinema, Festival de Cine de Madrid and more. Also having screenings in museums such as Rio's Museum of Modern Art, Austria's Medien Kultur Haus, Spain's Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Alicante, Niterói's Contemporary Art Museum, among others. In 2020, through a vote among several film critics, Leonardo Martinelli was mentioned as one of the Top 10 New Brazilian Filmmakers by Papo de Cinema.
