Stephanie Gail Jackson was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana where she was raised by her maternal grandmother during the formative years of her life. She moved to California in the late 1960's to live with her parents, Eugene and Mary Jackson. Her father worked in the aircraft industry for Hughes Aircraft and retired at Boeing in 2006. Her mother, Mary, was a social worker for the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services. Stephanie attended the following Los Angeles inner-cities schools: 97th Street Elementary School, Bret Hart Middle School, and Alain Leroy Locke High School where she graduated with her diploma. Stephanie was a part of the drama department and the varsity cheerleading squad. Stephanie performed in many school and community plays, that allowed her to travel around the United States where she not only performed but was a part of the production team as well. This is where Stephanie developed her love for theatre and television. After high school, Stephanie attended California State Polytechnic Pomona in Pomona, CA where she was studying Physical Education. She later transferred to California State University, Long Beach where she changed her major and received her BA degree in Liberal Studies to later become a teacher. Stephanie also two Master Degrees in the field of Education. Stephanie made her film debut in the 1980s in a film called, "Two Moon Junction". She later went on to do theatre productions and featured extra roles in films or stage productions such as "Snap Shots of a Broken Doll", "Jubilee Cafe", and many more. Stephanie later met and auditioned for John Singleton's "Boyz-n-the-Hood". Stephanie studied theatre at Richard Lawson Studios in Hollywood, CA. Stephanie continues to be a working actress in 2019.
