Douglas got his first high-8 video camcorder in 2000 and the filmmaking began. Firstly of family events - visits to Oban Seal Life Centre, for example, and nature videos (including the historic appearance of seven individual Basking Sharks in Loch Fyne), the first major production was "Evil Dead: Daemon Rising", a homage to one of his favorite films, Evil Dead 2. He and his older brother Andrew went on to create an entire series of their own version of "Doctor Who", which to date consists of 15 separate stories wherein the Doctor combats foes such as the Daleks, the Cybermen and Silurians, as well as a wealth of original villains. In 2008, Douglas attended a Film Making course at college in Glasgow, producing a wartime horror set in the final days of World War Two - "Broken Empire". In 2015, Douglas and Andrew produced their first standalone film - "The Song Of The Selkies" - which was based on an original story and filmed on the Scottish island of Orkney (where Douglas was living at the time). The Film was very popular locally and inspired them to start "The Pandora Men" - a weekly Sci Fi Adventure Show that aired from 2015 on YouTube, and is still going today - featuring in local press and described as "Doctor Who meets The X-Files." This was the first steps into Douglas's plan to create a platform for as yet undiscovered local talent to showcase their acting, musical skills, writing or just to give people the ability to be creative and have fun. Douglas moved from Orkney to Aberdeen and continued this hobby - bringing in new cast and crew, continuing "The Pandora Men," but also making "The Yird Swine" (2020), "Stag's Head" (2021) and "Crannog Bay" (2022) - all with no budget, no funding and in the cast and crew's spare time. Douglas has worked as a Retail Manager, a Fire Fighter, a RAF Regiment Gunner, a Museum Supervisor and an Operations Manager for several city centre theatres and performance venues, and at the moment makes films in his spare time for the sheer love of the industry and being creative. He loves nature, spending time with his partner who is studying to be an artist, walking his cocker spaniel up mountains, running or sea swimming.
