Eden Taytu Melaku is an Israeli-born artist: Actress based in New York. The daughter of Ethiopian Jewish descendants from the Beta Israel community. Currently, Eden is a student at the New School of drama for her Bachelor of fine arts in Dramatic Arts. Her recent work includes leading a musical Television series called 'Coco' directed and written by the Israeli film academy nominated, Esti Alamo and Elad Vexler. Her first appearance on screen was actually on YouTube with the influencer Meital Yimer. Together they created viral videos. At the time, Eden was studying at Beit Tzvi, in Ramat Gan while attending last year of high school. At the time, right before the next step, including hitting a guest star in Hakalmarim - a well-known TV show for kids on Hot VOD young, as required by law, Eden joined the Israel defense forces and she filled her duty as a performer actor and comedian for the soldiers of the IDF during 2016-2018, there, she was performing with a group of comedians all across the country and she also had her own solo debut as a one-woman show. Summing up, she had performed for over then 40,000 people as a soldier. In addition, teachers whom Eden worked with internationally are Eran Pesach, Catlin Adams, Leora Madmon, Esti Katz, Jeffrey Marcus, Ram Nahari, Gal Zaid, Loren Lovett, Esther Anat Hitman, Erez Tadmor & more. While attending service, she was able to act in some projects like supporting a TV show called 'Shaaraim', about a female soccer team, portraying a girl who received a scholarship to Yale and teetering between the decision to attend or leading the group as a team player to a victory. In 2019, after numerous collaborations with people in the film industry, including hitting a recurring role on the second season of 'Sisters' by Guri Alfi, Eden received another leading role in the short movie 'Jenga' which was screening at the Jewish film festival in Jerusalem & Tel Aviv film festival. Eden considers herself a multi-disciplinary artist and the duty of being so, has reinforced her curiosity, portraying the wandering characters and the stories, with the permission to enter new perspectives with pure joy. Eden thinks performing art is an excellent platform to create change in people's hearts.
