Julia Brock

Julia Brock was born and raised on a small produce farm in Northern California, where she started creating films at the age of 10. Throughout her teen years, she wrote, directed, filmed, and edited several music video projects with her friends, which grew her love for filmmaking. She currently resides in Los Angeles where she attends film school. Julia is working towards music-related careers in the film industry. Julia grew up in a small town of merely 1,000 people in California. In 4th grade, she started filming and editing her own home-movies starring her pet dog and cats. Throughout the years, she practiced learning new software, created clay-mations and stop-motion animations, one of which premiered in the Anderson Valley Film Festival when she was in 6th grade. In 8th grade, she joined the film class at her local 7th-12th high school of less than 300 students. Throughout high school, she created elaborate, effects-heavy music videos with her best friends using the limited resources she had. Each year, she wrote, directed, filmed & edited several of these music video projects. She started community college in 10th grade to lessen the cost of film college for her parents. She worked tirelessly; taking general education college courses at the same time as her high school classes, as well as taking several classes each summer while also working part-time food service jobs and helping her parents tend to their farm. By the time she graduated high school, she already had a full year of college under her belt. Though the cost of film college was impossibly more than her family could afford, she won an incredible amount of scholarships to ensure that she would have a chance to make her dream of attending film school in Los Angeles come true. Julia currently attends film school in Los Angeles where she is studying video-editing. Her time at college is spent directing short films, music videos, and editing projects for other students. She hopes to work on music videos, stage visuals, and films relating to music.
