Pakistani-Canadian actor and writer, Zeshaun Saleem was born in Saskatoon and raised in a small town in northern British Columbia. In 2021, Zeshaun was awarded Best Actor at the Europe Film Festival U.K. and Alternative Film Festival for his performance in the short film The Void (2020). Most notably, Zeshaun was cast as Salahuddin at the Montreal premiere of the critically acclaimed play The Domestic Crusaders (by Wajahat Ali). His most recent performances include a Netflix series (2022) - (working across Noah Centineo and alongside David Denman), and a Disney feature film (2022) - (working across Derek Theler). In addition, Zeshaun has entertained audiences playing Bilal in the theatrical production Sonya the Destroyer and in the documentary TV series Hotel Paranormal (2020). Initially pursuing a career in academia, Zeshaun completed his Undergraduate Degree in Middle Eastern History at Simon Fraser University and his Postgraduate Degree in Religious Philosophy at SOAS University of London (his publication can be found in The SAGE Encyclopedia of Surveillance, Security, and Privacy, 2018). Having lived in several countries, including Syria, Morocco, and Italy before settling in Montreal, his experiences inspired him to seek a deeper understanding of the human condition and he decided to leave behind academia and channel his new discoveries into writing and acting. Zeshaun trains weekly at the Montreal-based Straeon acting studios from renowned acting coaches Jock Macdonald and Isabel Farias. He is a firm believer that storytelling makes the world go round and brings his authentic life experience into his work. Aside from acting and writing, Zeshaun enjoys basketball, tennis, boxing, swimming, and ice skating. He currently splits his time between Vancouver and Montreal.
