Dan M. Gibson

Dan M. Gibson has been a pastor, a mayor, a lobbyist-even a candidate for governor. He now adds "author" to his resume with this, his first novel-a murder mystery that delivers a surprising message of hope! Now in his thirteenth year as Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Self-Insurers (MASI), Dan is a former mayor of Crystal Springs, MS, and a 1987 graduate of Mississippi State University where he served as student body president and received a Bachelor's in Business Administration. He first entered the insurance profession in 1994 as an independent agent, the same year his son Clark was born. As President of Copiah County Insurance Agency, Inc., Dan was named to the Mississippi Business Journal's Top Forty Under Forty at the age of thirty. He was a Republican candidate for Governor of Mississippi in 1999. Dan obtained his Series 7 as an AXA Advisors Financial Consultant in 2001 and started his own insurance consulting company, Dan M. Gibson & Co., Inc., in 2002. As Executive Director for MASI, Dan is a registered lobbyist representing hundreds of employers with millions in annualized self-insured premiums. In addition to his career in public service, Dan enjoys music, architecture and woodworking. He owns several successful bed-and-breakfast homes in historic Natchez, Mississippi, where he is active in community and church service work.
