Geofrey King

Geofrey King ( born on 1st/October /1992 ), is a Ugandan filmmaker. He went to st Johns Apollo high school, and later to Nkumba University, where he didn't graduate to love for filming. He began his journey in the film industry in 2011, as an editor. He started directing short films in 2015, in a small production company called Blast Entertainment. This later became Entebbe Productions, where he is the founder and managing director. With in this production house, came beautiful local short films like 'Ken & The Rabbit', Zumbalu and many other short films. He first gained recognition for directing a feature film 'Tragedy' (2019), which hit the box office in his country. 'Red Paws' (2020) an action adventure movie later pulled it off. This, which he made with English actor John King opened the doors for Geofrey King into bigger screens. This was followed by 'Without A Walking Stick' (2020), 'Sorea' (2021), 'In The Wooden Box' (2021). With 'Without A Walking Stick' earning him many official selections in various Festivals across the globe, and 'In The Wooden Box' also attracted lots of audience for its stunning concept. He found further success with 'Girl On The Run', 'The Exhibit', and 'Silent Mission' among others. In addition to filmmaking, he founded G.K Foundation Uganda, where the needy and helpless children are sheltered and find the opportunity to live like other children. 'The Four Idiots' which was marketed and distributed under Pearlwood became the first and highest-grossing film in Pearlwood, King holds the achievement of having directed the first highest budget action film with foreign actors.
