J.G. Murphy was born in San Carlos, California to Kevin and Deanna Murphy. He attended school at St. Charles Elementary and Sequoia High School before being accepted into the BFA Acting program at AMDA College of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles. After graduating, Murphy turned to work behind the camera. It was then when he started to collaborate with fellow classmate Nolan Pugh. Together, they started TMK Productions and released their first project, Whatever We Want, in 2019.
