Scott Hanson was one of probably just a dozen babies born to mothers in Soldier, Iowa in 1961. The city leaders, staring down the double barrel of Scott's intellect and talent, quickly realized his educational requirements would demand the cooperation of neighboring Moorhead, Iowa. Thus the consolidated East Monona Community School District was formed with just 3 years to spare. Scott grew up on a farm with his mother and father, two older sisters, dogs, rabbits, pigeons, turtles, guppies, a pet raccoon, and whatever cats his uncle didn't run over accidentally. As one of only twenty three students in his grade, Scott met the rigorously enforced "warm body" requirement of the Act Club and took to the stage for school productions. At the same time, the student newspaper beckoned, and Scott committed forced entry on the world of print journalism. Next stop, broadcasting! It all began at a small, 10 watt radio station in Sioux City, IA. Morningside College's KMSC (Your Big Friend in the Midwest with the 10 Watt Arms) offered Scott the first opportunity to embarrass himself in front of a sizable group of people efficiently. Soon, he was being paid to put on make up and say true things at KCAU-TV, while completing college. Scott's empire, in its glory, held dominion over four TV markets. An empire upon an empire! Yadda yadda, medical reporter in Wichita, yadda yadda, why I'd LOVE to work in Raleigh.... yadda yadda... Orlando? Orland-yeah! It was there he found love, in the form of a small gold news statue named Emmy. And his wife. DEFINITELY his wife first thing, then, well, then his four kids, and I guess Emmy comes after all that. Resettling in Raleigh to begin a video marketing company, Scott was shooting an audition as a favor for a friend when she suggested he contact her agent since casting directors believe former news people to have the range and depth needed to play news people. He did, and they do. The result has been a new star in the character actor firmament. Scott Hanson. Now putting on make up and saying things that are made up since 2019.
