Alyssa Botelho is a filmmaker born and raised in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. She attended Fairhaven High School where she found her love of writing and directing for film. Alyssa graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2021 with two degrees, Film/Media and Management, and two short films, Junkie and To Dust All Return. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA, the University Academic Excellence Award in Film/Media, and the Dean's Excellence Award in Management. In addition to participating in many film festivals, Alyssa's work has won four Honorable Mentions from the New England Student Emmy Awards, three 1st Place awards from the Massachusetts Organization of Video Educators, and five awards from the Providence 48 Hour Film Project (including 1st Place Best Film in 2021). Related to her schooling, Alyssa was named the inaugural recipient of the Winifred Brownell Scholarship from the Rhode Island International Film Festival and was waitlisted for the prestigious 2021 Marshall Scholarship, where she would have earned her Masters in Screenwriting at the National Film and Television School in England. Alyssa still resides in Fairhaven, but travels internationally with producer Rob Goodrich of Walk Like A Duck Entertainment as his executive assistant.
