Sharine Taylor

Sharine is an award-winning music and culture writer and director with an interest in production design. Through directing and screenwriting, she thinks through the intersection of (un)belonging, memory, diaspora, identity and citizenship and is interested in showing Black life in all of its textures. Through her explorations in production design, she seeks to create a culturally-sensitive and relevant world on screen that creates intimacy between characters, their environment and audience. Sharine was the winner of a 2021 Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction in a Documentary Series.
