Helen Aschauer

Helen Esther Aschauer is an austro- cuban Filmmaker/ Choreographer/ Movement Director & Dancer. After a career is dance she moved on to choreograph for screen and entirely progressed into directing. She co-produced, directed, and choreographed an artistic short dance film about female sensuality, purposely working and collaborating with an all-female team only, which will be released February 2021. At this moment Helen is working on her first immersive dance piece about domestic abuse in collaboration with Estudios Victor Cordon and Casa Independente in Lisbon. The piece is due to premiere mid January in Lisbon. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the piece has been postponed. New dates TBC. She is currently developing a short film about a young man in a fishermen community in Portugal.
