Shaun Lim Shi Yang was born in Singapore, South-east Asia and decided to pursue a career in acting after attending the Haque School of Acting and Creativity in Singapore. He made his debut playing a skeleton-loving teen Hugo in How do I Love Thee (2017) and since then has completed over 60 short films in the Singapore indie scene. In 2018 he played Clarence in Jacky Lee's Rom-com short film In Transit, commissioned by the Singapore Tourism Board, and in 2019 played fighter pilot Ansel Wan in the Singapore Air Force's first ever short film. He also played a young man Max Chen who goes on a mission to complete his grandpa's dying wish in My Homeland: A photography project by Grandpa Chen (2019) which won Best Film at the 2019 Cine65 Film Festival which then participated in the Busan International Film Festival 2019. He plays Frank in his latest short film Last Retro Journey (2021) where three former band members go on a journey to attend the final band member's funeral. He has also starred in the music video of Ultra Venus, the title track of Singapore's rising pop-band Discohue's 1st full album.
