T.J. Mokhuane is a South African actor known for his roles in hit South African telenovelas like The River, Lithapo and Isithembiso. He was born in Itsoseng, North West province on September 30 1998 and is of Setswana origin. Before the lights, cameras and all the action; Mokhuane was a BCom student at the North West University in Potchefstroom where he dropped out later that year (2017) to pursue an acting career. He left for Johannesburg and went to film school where he coupled his skills with numerous drama classes and workshops which led him to scoring his first role on the International Emmy nominated, South African telenovela, The River where he played the teenage dad-to-be, "Tshepo" and worked alongside Tsotsi (2005) star, Presley Chweneyagae. Besides the fact this was his first gig, his work as "Tshepo" kept the country abuzz as fans of the show went to Twitter every night praising his and his co-star, Matshepo Sekgopi's, performances. His work on "The River" caught the eyes of Yizo Yizo creators, Bomb Productions who offered him a role on Isithembiso as "Kagiso". Mokhuane further cemented his place as a young magnate to look out for when he took on the role of "Thabang" in the Sotho telenovela, Lithapo, which is produced by Quizzical Pictures. As of April 2021, Mokhuane was rumored to be on the set of BET Africa's "Isono" (produced by Clive Morris Productions). He made no comments about it until September 30th, 2021, when he announced that he will be joining the cast of the show playing a broken and desperate, "Mzwakhe", who will be pawning Mary Ndlovu's (played by the SAFTA winning, Nthati Moshesh) game of chess after Siviwe Mabongo's (played by Dumisani Mbebe) disappearance. With almost half a decade as a professional actor, Mokhuane says his wish is to keep being consistent with his work and keep improving.
