Brittany Menjivar

Brittany Menjivar is a screenwriter from Silver Spring, Maryland, in the heart of the DMV. In May 2019, she was selected as a screenwriting mentee for the AT&T Hello Lab Filmmaker Mentorship Program, which gives screenwriters and directors from underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to have their short films produced in partnership with Fullscreen and Lena Waithe. In November 2019, she made her debut with Fragile.com, a short about a teenage girl who is promised fame, fortune, and affection if she agrees to livestream herself crying for a niche website. Menjivar is a student at Yale University, where she is pursuing a double major in English and Film. She has been featured in various publications, including Vanity Fair, Deadline, and Mitú. She aims to use thriller frameworks to explore social issues, and is fascinated by stories about perception, imagination, subcultures, and community dynamics. As a young Latina woman in the industry, she is excited to create work that represents a variety of experiences and perspectives.
