Yaliza was born in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic and immigrated to New York with her siblings at the age of 12. Yaliza represented the Dominican Republic in the 2019 Miss Supranational contest in Poland, where she finished in the top 14 out of 87 contestants, winning the Caribbean tittle.
