Michael Ellis

An award winning filmmaker from Birmingham, United Kingdom. Michael has produced, written and directed a number of short films, some of which have achieved awards in various national and international film festivals including 'Best Short Film' (awarded by British film director Shane Meadows), 'Best Thriller Short Film' and 'Award of Excellence'. He has worked on BBC 'Doctors' & the TV Series 'Seaview' as camera operator and editor. Michael graduated Birmingham City University with a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication - Moving Image. He loves to immerse himself in films from around the world, learning and admiring the craft of storytelling and the art of taking a story from paper to the screen. He sees film as a tool for highlighting social issues, creating thought provoking conversation and stimulating positive change. Michael has worked in his local community delivering filmmaking workshops for beginners, giving individuals a basic insight into the filmmaking process.
