Zach Gold was born November 18th, 1999, and grew up in Mount Laurel, NJ. From a very young age he saw his parents, Aaron Gold and Robin Gold, work hard to provide a good life for him as a child. This is what would shape his work ethic, and inspire him to work harder than everyone else in order to succeed. This would apply to all aspects of his life, and none more so than his future career path, Film. Zach found his love of film at an early age. His mother bought him an action camera for the holidays, and he promptly began making videos every time he had the chance. From ski videos, to family vacations, he shot everything he could to make a story out of it. When he started 8th grade, Zach began to really explore film in different ways. Thanks to his teacher for S.T.E.A.M class, Mr. Tom Chirip, Zach decided to make film less of a hobby, and more of a potential career. Zach started high school in September 2014, at Lenape High School. It was there he decided to take his first Film/TV class, and instantly fell in love with it. He then moved on to the next classes in the following years, and his love grew more. He worked with young artists in his school, in particular AJ.XO, who he started making music videos with and still does to this day. He began entering festivals, having success at many of the ones he took part in. He branched out beyond school as well, making lifelong collaborators and friends along the way, such as Sara James and the late Benjamin (Benny) Porawski. He even started his own small film company, ZRG Productions, which would later evolve into Sandbar Films. When he hit his senior year of high school, he decided this would be what he pursued for the rest of his life. He graduated from Lenape in June 2018, packed his bags, and headed down to Georgia to attend his dream school, SCAD. When he arrived at SCAD, he got right to work. He learned so much more about the industry and how to adapt. He faced many challenges, but worked hard to overcome them all. Because of this, Zach grew more as a filmmaker and truly began to hone his craft. These are things he would take beyond SCAD, and he continued to play to his strengths, meeting new people and helping them tell stories. From making music videos with Joi Najae and Graham Winters, to working on new and exciting films with former classmates and longtime friends, Zach knows exactly where he's going. And he can't wait for everyone else to see.
