As the performance artist, creativity for Olayinka is life; the stories we tell and share are to engage and entertain. My experience started from secondary to college and university with a degree in performance arts and musical theatre. From teaching to putting on own shows, leading to writing her own material from 'See Me' being her first written production performed at Anna Schers Theatre school, although she has been writing from young songs, poetry and emotional feelings but only at this point it developed to scripts/ screenplays. After this Olayinka went on to write a couple screenplays, songs and performed her written pieces in live shows such as Moetry, Flo Vortex spoken word platform which are still ongoing. She then went to the Tile Yard summer writing camp and got her collaborative written song a publishing deal with Ninja Tune record label. Since this Olayinka has kept writing and been casted in different roles with recent credits for Torchwood 2000, 4Play, Bo Cat, Ubuntu. Apart from this Olayinka was a radio presenter (DejavuFm, Urban Jazz radio, Diverse FM) for over 6yr co ran a community arts company and trained as a dancer. Also taught contemporary, free style-street, including singing, drama and vocal workshops, engaging with young people using the arts. Olayinka is currently a Maktub.Arts member and collaborative writer, within the theatre company. Her first production being Ubuntu and with Maktub next upcoming show being Phoenix showing in Dec 15-18th 2021, also look out for her in Doctor Who fan movie coming out next year. Being able to write and getting her work off paper onto a stage or behind a screen is a good challenge and experience as a performer. Olayinka's journey has elevated her ability and strengthened her talent as an actress and writer, with new experience that leaves a great imprint, from paper to life.
