Oscar is a writer and author from Oxford. Born in 1997, his interest in storytelling came from an early love of reading and his dad's insistence on watching the Star Wars, Back to the Future, and Indiana Jones trilogies when they came on TV as part of his 'vital education'. By the age of 9, Oscar had worked through all of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy on VHS (in 15-minute sessions before bed). Throughout school, Oscar found a passion for writing and intended to become an author. The spark for filmmaking came in early 2019 while visiting his friend, Corey Adams, in Vancouver and volunteering as a props assistant on the production of Midnight Screaming (2019). Oscar painted a door for a bedroom set and described the feeling of pride seeing 'my door' in the background of the shot as 'what being a parent must be like'. Upon returning to the UK, Oscar joined the National Youth Film Academy and co-wrote the award-winning mockumentary Last Rites (2020) with Ben Archer which was filmed in August 2020. Oscar's scripts tend to be comedies, while his novel-writing tends to be more sci-fi focused which he describes as 'not quite as funny'.
