A Short Bio of Alfred M. Williams Alfred is a native of San Diego California. His parents both relocated from the south, his mother's family from Texas, his father from Louisiana. Alfred's passions have always run towards the arts. Alfred's mother Lois, was an artist and was his first art teacher and instilled in him a fervor for creating images through pencil and paint. And he has always been fascinated with story telling through words and pictures. For a long time his zeal was writing and drawing comics. And he briefly worked in that industry. Alfred has had many metier, as a young man, he studied Karate and Muay Thai kick-boxing and was even an amateur kick-boxer, and he also has a passion for making music and sang in a number of funk/soul bands. Disillusioned and bored with school at an early age, Alfred was a high school drop out who eventually took the G.E.D. He later returned to a life of academics and attended San Diego City College, where he studied Commercial art, in addition to taking classes in photography and film making, before transferring to San Diego State, where he majored in Fine Art (with an emphasis on drawing and painting.) Alfred currently splits his time between working as a graphic designer, web-designer and illustrator and as an adjunct instructor at West City Center Adult School teaching courses in Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Sketchup, After Effects, and Premiere to name just a few. Alfred is a passionate lover of film and music. And has a sizable collection of movies and and music Cd's. His movie faves run the gamut from independent films, to Hong Kong action, to French new wave, to art house and grind-house. His musical faves run from jazz to funk, from blues to Afro-Cuban, and from world beat to Bossa Nova. In his spare time Alfred writes and shoots short films and writes sci-fi and horror stories. Alfred currently lives in a small cottage in on a hill overlooking Lemon Grove, San Diego. Alfred has currently finished a number of short films including "Mr. D's Makeover" which has been accepted into the following film festivals, Montreal Independent Film Festival, The Sci-Fi & Fantasy: Genre Lab - Presented by Lift-Off Global Network and the Best Shorts Competition. And a low budget Horror Comedy Called "Vampyre Hustle" which was accepted into The Sci-Fi & Fantasy: Genre Lab - Presented by Lift-Off Global film Network festival.
