Jay Meachum

Jay Meachum is a professional trumpeter, music arranger, and orchestrator. Jay has performed with Quincy Jones, Harry Connick Jr., The Count Basie Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, Arturo Sandoval, The Temptations, The 4 Tops, Smokey Robinson, John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Wynnona Judd, Matthew Morrison, Michael Feinstein, Fred Wesley, Peaches & Herb, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Freddie Cole, just to name a few. In 2019, Jay was a part of the big band for Harry Connick, Jr.'s World Premiere of his musical, "True Love: A Celebration of Cole Porter." In 2020, Meachum was the trumpeter/flugelhornist on the World Premiere of the Broadway Musical "d'ILLUSION: The Houdini Musical." His writing/arranging credits include Grammy nominated Jazz singer, Nnenna Freelon, multiple Grammy winners Kenny G and Neil Sedaka, Ben Folds, as well as former Drifters vocalist and solo artist Ben E. King.
