Alexa Costa

Linda Alejandra "Alexa" Costa, (nee Vasquez) was born on November 10, 1971, in San Antonio, TX to Hercilia (Hernandez) & Gilbert Vasquez, a successful residential and commercial contractor. She is of Mexican, French & English descent. A graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law (Juris Doctor), and The University of Central Florida (B.A. Political Science/International Relations & Comparative Politics), Costa founded a multi-office law firm in Central Florida. She was awarded the GOP Business Woman of the Year Award and invited to dine with President George W. Bush at the White House. In 2011, Costa was federally indicted on money laundering charges, serving a six-year sentence at D.O.C.'s Lowell Correctional Institution, Ocala, FL, and Victorville Women's Federal Prison Camp, Victorville, CA. Costa, a litigator turned writer in the genres of narco, prison, urban, and horror, struggled for several years post-prison to find her voice and regain her footing. However, in 2019, she created an episodic television series, Pretty Girl Prison, centered around life in prison for the beautiful narco women of the South. Her debutorial series is optioned for development in Winter 2022, with award-winning filmmaker, Dror Soref (The Seventh Coin, 1993), at the directorial helm. Also optioned for production in late 2022, is Costa's first full-length gothic supernatural psychological horror feature, Weekend at Sinister Mansion.
