About Thomas Overton His name is Thomas Overton, aka NiceWiththePen, and is a success story already written. Thomas's love affair with writing began while he was a Business Major studying at Drexel University. Several of his college professors gave his term paper writing high praise and said they enjoyed reading his work. His professors' complements began to spark his writing interests. Unfortunately, around the same time Thomas had some troubles with the law and was sentenced to two years in prison. His collegiate career would have to wait while he paid his debt to society. During his incarceration, Thomas decided to put his skills to use and practice the talents he had been praised for while attending college. He came up with a concept that would be the basis for his first screenplay and novel. Since Thomas didn't know how to structure a screenplay, he had someone send him David Trottier's "Screenwriter's Bible" and he studied it from front to back. Upon the completion of his two-year bid, he'd written six complete screenplays. Upon his re entry into society in 2005 and now that Thomas was home from prison, he decided to convert one of his complete screenplays into a novel and embark upon a career as an author. Normally a novel is written and a screenplay is adapted from the novel. Thomas felt his screenplay about two detectives and a gun that is passed around the city of Philadelphia would read well as a book. While writing the novel, he met an independent publisher who loved the story and decided to publish it. The novel is called "Murder With A Deadly Weapon" and was critically acclaimed. After the release of "Murder With A Deadly Weapon" in 2008 and due to bad business practices by his previous publisher, Thomas decided to take some time off to really learn the book publishing industry and take his career into his own hands. Over the course of a six year lay off and learning the industry inside and out, Mr. Overton has written close to 8 more additional novels.
