Summer Alvarez

Melissa Summer Alvarez was born on June 18, 1993 in Pomona, California to Eulalia and Ramiro Alvarez. She is a first generation Mexcian-American, and strongly relates to her origins of Zacatecas, Mexico. She has two siblings, and older sister, and a younger sister. In elementary school, she got a lead role in her fifth grade play, which sparked her interest in pursuing acting. Her family moved to San Antonio, Texas when she was twelve. In high school she played flute in the marching band, and later performed in the color guard her last two years. While she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, she started taking acting classes at Performing Arts San Antonio. She later transferred to Texas State University, where she earned her bachelor's in Nutrition and Foods. The following year upon graduation, she decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She studies acting with Mike Kimmel, an experienced actor, public speaker, author, and acting coach.
