Stephanie Bou Chedid is an actor, painter, and writer. She has lived between Beirut, Paris, and New York City since her early twenties. Her educational background includes film studies, literature, painting, and acting. Her film work has so far been rather noncommercial, with a silent feature film, 'The Symphony of Pansies', made during confinement by distance with Indian director Aneek Chaudhuri, and a short film, 'Renascence', dealing with trauma. Her interests lie in translating trauma into image and through sound, whether it is through film or through painting. She has founded a collective for Lebanese actors that echoes the Actor's Studio in New York City, through which she invites actors to work within the method, mainly the Lee Strasberg method in which she is trained, to create work that is unseen by the public but made for training and development purposes. It is called the Beirut Actors' Collective. She has written a collection of poems that is yet unpublished.
